Dog Days, complete.

It's a short, silly series about a middleschooler who gets summoned to an alternate world full of animal people. There, they don't have real wars so much as they have giant sporting events, supported by magic protection from local gods.

This show is about as simple as they come. There aren't any villains, no one really angsts, the plot, as such, is very straight-forward. I did like the world-building they did. It's very fantasy, but fun.

The only point I still don't understand is from episode 10-ish. Millhi is wearing both her country's Holy Swords when she goes to face Leo, but then Shinku is still able to use Palladion when he's chasing after the demon. I'm pretty sure that's Palladion, since it has the same flame-like dispersal effect and turns into the same surfboard as always. The only explanation is that wearing the rings doesn't necessarily mean you're weilding the weapon... but it would have been nice to see some clarification.

(The other hard to believe point is that Shinku managed to learn their writing system within 16 days. According to more dedicated fans, the language they use is basically Engrish, written through altered katakana, which means he at least didn't need new grammar or vocal, but that's still a lot of symbols to rememer, though I suppose he might have looked them up one at a time or something...)

Anyway, it was nice. Pretty brainless too.

EDIT: Dammit, Dad, now I have to add a note. As a certain man points out, in ep. 10 when Shinku uses all that magic, it might be to show that it's just him. That's fine... but my problem is that, when I watched it, as I understood, his surfboard was made with Palladion, sprecifically. It's made pretty clear that Palladion has the ability to change shape at the user's will, like being a staff for him. Then, Shinku figures out how to make it into many different shapes - surfboard, frisbee, etc. But that's an actual property of Palladion, not a form of Seal magic. So to say that Shinku is doing that... seems fishy. I mean, does anyone ever just form matter out of magic? That surfboard's freakin' solid. It's Palladion... which he doesn't have with him.

Like I said, maybe you don't need to have the ring to use the weapon though.
